So it's been awhile since we chatted folks - glad we have this chance to get together and spend some time tonight! There's been lots happening since last we chatted and there's no lack of topics to cover so let's begin and see where my head takes us...sound good?
Osama Is Dead
I can't think of one person more deserving of being hunted down and killed than this monster.
What he did in planning 9/11 is something that has shaped our world in so many ways that it's hard to even comprehend. I don't know that as a Canadian, I can ever fully comprehend what this did to the American psyche but I can imagine the relief of knowing the bastard is dead.
If anything, I think it's a shame that he died quickly - there is a certain side of me that hates knowing he's become a martyr to his followers now. I wish he'd been captured, brain washed and turned into a sort of pariah to his followers and then had the world watch as he became abhorrent to the people who regarded him as a step below Mohammed. Alternately, I would have wished for something that made him suffer akin to the way he made the people in the Twin Towers & their relatives suffer when the attack hit. No matter what, I know the world is a better place today now that he is no longer in it but man, it's hard to comprehend that after a decade the hunt is finally over.

So in less interesting news, there's an election in my country tonight and yes, I voted. Something that totally grinds my gears about living in Canada has to be the electoral process here. I'm so tired of having elections pop up every couple of years at irregular intervals as the various minority governments haven't been able to stay afloat as long as one might like. The worst thing tho, is that after the election & the votes are counted, we don't get a new government!!!! Just another idiotic minority government...it's really enough to make you want to tear your hair out and lock the Parliament up and throw the keys away so they can't get out and do it all again a year or two later. So what does a girl who has a definite aversion to the party that historically sweeps thru her riding, city & province? Register a token protest vote of course & hope yet again that she won't be forced to go to the polls again 12 - 18 months from now again. I swear to the flying spaghetti monster I am sick to death of the idiocy on display in Ottawa. Perhaps the best solution would be to make the party leaders fight it out in an arena a la the Thunderdome from Mad Max....at least that would be entertaining and it might just clean out some of the stuffed shirts so that new ones take their place. Personally I'm just waiting for his dreaminess, Justin Trudeau, to take a run at the Liberal Leadership cuz I'd totally vote for his hotness....*grrrrrrowwwrrrr*

So this weekend I did something I'd never tried before - hypnotherapy! Crazy huh? They had a deal from one of the Groupon clones that got you 1 session for only $39 and then when I checked with my health provider & discovered the costs were covered by my plan I was all for it! Primarily I'm interested in exploring past life regression but have no issue with dealing with other issues as well cuz it's all related, right?

Anyways, it was kind of a funny setup - I had to meet him at the back door to the locked and empty office building in a kind of sketchy area of Calgary (this is when the scary movie music would have started if I were starring in a movie...LOL) and then got escorted to his office.
It was okay tho, the hypnotherapist was very nice & had a great energy (no axe murder-y vibes, *phew*) so it wasn't at all uncomfortable, till he touched my knee!!! LOL I was a little startled (I'm from long line of not very touchy-feely family, contact is odd!) Apparently it was a technique designed to anchor his questions/comments/energy in your mind while you were undergoing the hypnosis. All I know is he got to 1st base (kind of) so I feel the need to know if he still respects me...
All in all, it was a very interesting session, much more emotional than I'd expected (I cried....I *never* cry...it was strange...) and very relaxing and I look forward to the next session...I'll make sure to let you guys know if we take things to the "next level"...LOL

A big "Thank-You"to Jewels for passing on this One Lovely Blog award...it means a lot to get some love from someone whose blog I comepletely enjoy (check out her awesome blog, Jewels Turning 30). There were no rules as to what you do when you ge this award but I will pass it on in a future post so be nice to me people....this beauty could be yours if you play your cards right!!! (And yes, I do accept bribes so get creative people - I like cash & jewelry....go!) LOL
Odds 'N Ends
- the NHL playoffs continue & since Chicago didn't manage to get the job done, I'm now exclusively rooting for any team that can beat the Canucks....I don't care who wins (even Tampa could win - maybe this time it'd even be real) as long as it isn't Vancouver
- the new season of Dr. Who began a couple weeks ago and the 2 episodes to date have been awesome...in honour of that I've ordered myself a Tardis keychain from ThinkGeek.com ... if you haven't checked them out before you really ought to...especially for their wonderful cube toys!
- spring seems to have arrived as we had our first actually warm day today prompting lame jokes at the office ("it's +19 not +1" hahahahaha) as our month-end work sprang into full gear (we call each day after the last day of the month +1, +2, +3 etc and have to close our books on +4 - hence the temperature joke, yes I'm in accounting) *facepalm*
- I painted a gnome at ceramics a few weeks ago & while I like him, his eyes are spooked & weird and he's always staring at me now....in retrospect, it might have been better to have just done a mug....*shudder*
