Ruby Tuesday

So it's Tuesday...normally a day that feels alot like Monday yet not this week!

It's a short week for me, thanks to the impending Easter holiday which means today is more like Thursday and tomorrow will essentially be Friday! Whoot!

I love the way a short week comes together - you're rarely at work long enough to get to the point of breaking and wishing you could just runaway and join the circus. (Totally a good thing as I would not do well with the smelly carney folk - sorry to offend any who might read this but seriously guys, it's pretty easy to work the soap + water + deodorant = no bad smells equation.)

Anyhoo....I've been thinking lately about setting some goals, some big, some small & some totally unrealistic just to keep it interesting & thought I might share some of them:

- I will get out and about in the city more, spring will arrive eventually so now is the time to start checking out all that Calgary has to offer (this does not mean I will go to Stampede tho - that shitshow is NOT my gig at all...)

- I will write on my blog &  write privately more - one of my goals in starting this blog was to get back to "writing-fit"...some day I'd love to write a book, and we all know a journey of 500pgs starts with little blog entries like this (I promise here & now never to force my potential fiction on you....it seems mean to make you read these thoughts never mind my "novel"...)

- I will adopt a dog this summer - there are things happening that prevent this going down this month but soon you will hear all about me spending ridiculous amounts of money of doggy accessories a la my pal William's Girl (How often has Bodhi worn his snow jacket again Jenn??? LOL)

- I will finally unpack all my boxes of books & DVDs currently littering my guest room closet...sure it's a walk in and has lots of space but it just looks junky at the moment and that needs to change

- Speaking of the guest room, I will also convince my mother to stop referring to it as "her room" and trying to make me make other guests sleep downstairs on the couch

- I will start working really hard at figuring out Excel formulas and stop letting them make me feel like an idiot...I mean really it can't be that hard can it?!?! (I'm such a "do it the hard way" user....*sigh*)

- I will stop letting the housework pile up around me...sure it's just me making the mess but it never hurt anyone to dust (well, not alot anyways) and not having those panic moments before people just drop-in for a visit would make for a much less stressful life (or so I assume, haven't gotten there yet!)

- I will stop haunting eBay & Etsy when bored, my credit card can't handle me being there nor can my paycheque - no matter how good the deal

- I'll also work on my need to always add graphics to these posts...there's something oddly addicting to a Google image search that I haven't quite managed to kick the habit of yet

- Geeky goal of the day will be to stop being sad that David Tennant is no longer The Doctor...Matt Smith is pretty good too & I will learn to stop wishing for another "Allons-Y!" moment or for Bad Wolf, the Master or for Rose, Mickey & Jackie to rear their heads.

Alrighty then - I'll stop there - seems like the list is long enough for now. The game for the rest of you is to guess which are the actual goals and which are the ones that are completely unrealistic....I did try to not make them too obvious, promise!
